MA Green Party E-mail Update -- 02/11/03
=========================================================
To the Mass. Greens:
I hope everyone is doing everything they can to stop the war. The latest
word is that there's a permit for the rally, but not one for the march.
People are planning to march anyway. See you in New York.
Thanks, and, as always, please forward event information to
pkeaney at massgreens.org so that I can get it into the update for you.

B. Hip-Hop Culture at Cambridge Forum
***********************************************
Noted journalist and author Selwyn Seyfu Hinds, former editor-in-chief
of The Source magazine, discusses "Bits and Bites from Hip-Hop Life" at
Cambridge Forum, Wednesday, February 12th, 7:30 p.m. at First Parish, 3
Church Street, Harvard Square, in Cambridge. A book-signing will follow
the program.
Over the last two decades, hip-hop music has grown from budding niche
market into global cultural phenomenon. Its stars set trends in music,
fashion and film, drawing legions of fans and a fair share of critics.
In "Gunshots in My Cook-Up: Bits and Bites from a Hip-Hop Caribbean
Life," Hinds shares an insider's view on the world of hip-hop music and
the dramatic lives of its celebrities. Part memoir, part cultural
critique, he traces the heights and depths of his hip-hop love affair
and hip-hop's indelible impact on American culture.

Dear JusticeVision supporters and friends:
I videotaped Scott Ritter yesterday (1/19/03) in Claremont. Scott Ritter
is the Former United Nations Chief Weapons Inspector in Iraq. His talk
was entitled "War: Why Now? What You May Not Know". The event was held
at the United Church of Christ of Claremont (CA). Scott Ritter's talk is
1 hour 46 minutes with q & a. Ritter is a former Marine and a Republican
who shares the concerns of many others about the course the President is
taking in Iraq.
I am putting this and 4 other events together on one videotape and will
send a copy to anyone that would like one that will send a donation of
$5 or more after they receive it. The videotape is over 8 hours long in
all. The other events on the videotape are of Helen Caldicott (speaking
in San Francisco on the 1st anniversary of 9/11), Noam Chomsky at UPENN
("Paths to Peace: Hopes and Barriers", on the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict, 10/3/02; 1:48), Phyllis Bennis (on Iraq- Chapman University,
10/17/02), and Jeff Halper (House demolitions in the West Bank (All
