Last modified on 2007-10-03 22:34:38 The statement that was posted here and published as my statement on the bombing of Lebanon was never meant for publication and was part of an early draft. The context of the conversation had also been removed. I am presently running for office and apologize that I don't have time to produce the polished document that this subject both needs and deserves. I remain opposed to the bombing of Lebanese civilians, especially the use of cluster bombs (which are specifically an anti-personnel weapons) on civilians and in such concentration that there were many thousands of casualties in a short period. Any use of cluster bombs purposefully on civilians is wrong and I believe that international law is considering directly including that as illegal or has already done so. While it was actually the opposite of the purpose of the analogies in the draft piece, some people have interpreted that I was saying the Jewish people are batterers or killers like the Columbine killers.
