Directions to the Hitchcock Center For the Environment in Amherst

From the North/Northwest

Route 91 South to Exit 25--At the end of the ramp turn left onto Route 116 and follow to the intersection with Routes 5 & 10 Sout. Turn right and go one mile (passing Yankee Candle) and then turn left onto Route 116 South (towards Sunderland). Go over the Ct. River bridge and continue on Rt. 116 for approximately 10 miles until it ends at Rt. 9 in Hadley. Turn left onto Rt. 9. And proceed for about 1 mile to intersection at Amherst Town Common . Turn right onto Rt. 116 (also called South Pleasant St.). The Hitchcock Center is one mile from this intersection. Take a right at our driveway (also there is a sign for The Common School at the same entrance). After entering the driveway, take first left into the parking lot.

From the South

Route 91 North to Exit 19 (Northampton/Amherst)--Right onto Route 9 East . Travel approx. 7 miles (passing by the turnoff to Route 116 North and UMass) until you come to the intersection of Routes 9 and 116 South at the Amherst town common . Turn right onto Rt. 116 (also called South Pleasant St.). The Hitchcock Center is one mile from this intersection. Take a right at our driveway (also there is a sign for The Common School at the same entrance). After entering the driveway, take first left into the parking lot.

From the East/Northeast

Mass Pike (Route 90) West to Exit 4 (West Springfield) onto Route 91 North to Exit 19 (Northampton/Amherst) --Right onto Route 9 East. Travel approximately 7 miles (passing by the turnoff to Route 116 North and UMass) until you come to the intersection of Routes 9 and 116 South at the Amherst town common. Turn right onto Rt. 116 (also called South Pleasant St.). The Hitchcock Center is one mile from this intersection. OR:

Route 2 West to Route 202 South Exit 16 (Amherst/Belchertown). Follow 202 South until you go past the Quabbin overlook. Take a right onto Pelham Road at the yellow blinking light by the church. Follow Pelham Road all the way to Amherst center. At the intersection at the town commons in downtown Amherst, turn left onto Rt. 116 (also called South Pleasant St.). The Hitchcock Center is one mile from this intersection. Take a right at our driveway (also there is a sign for The Common School at THE same entrance). After entering the driveway, take first left into the parking lot.

From the West/Southwest
